Love is Built Through Meaningful Connections
In the last of his ten pastoral poems published as “Bucolica,” Roman poet Virgil wrote, “Omnia vincit amor.” Though his works aren’t widely read today, the phrase, translated as “love conquers all,” continues to resonate generations later.
Real love, whether platonic or romantic, comes from having a true, fulfilling connection with another person. When we approach an opportunity to love, if we come with a belief that we are complete and loved within ourselves, we create an open space in which to give and receive love without needing anything in return.
“So through love, our relationships can make us strong enough to conquer anything that comes our way.”
When this happens, love truly can conquer any problem: pride, selfishness, distrust and other issues can be resolved because as the Bible says, love is patient, and love is kind. Love exists to bind people together, even imperfect people – so through love, our relationships can make us strong enough to conquer anything that comes our way.
